The Fairstone paving blocks are tumbled to give an aged appearance similar to that of the setts or cobbles that have been used for centuries. Through buying Fairstone sawn paving you can rest assured that the stone is quarried and processed to the stringent standards of the Ethical Trading Initiative; it makes sure certainly no child labour, fair wages and safe working conditions are actually maintained.
The Fairstone driveway setts are naturally split before being sawn to size on a twin head stone saw to ensure the stone is cut and processed to a strict tolerance. The driveway setts are then partially dressed by hand to remove a lot of the excess depth and then placed on the calibration machine to give a final depth of 50mm, when the driveway setts have been calibrated to 50mm deep they are placed in the Vibro machine to smooth off any roughness of the stone
